Job Description

Program Coordinator - LDSC-USNO Project

Reporting to the Head of Office, the Program Coordinator is responsible for child protection risk management processes for the Latter Day Saints Charities (LDSC-USNO) funded Food and Nutrition Security Project in Chipinge and Chimanimani Districts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Accountabilities:

Project quality

Coordinate the implementation of the LDSC-USNO Food and Nutrition Security Project in line with the approved project proposal and budget
Participate in all planning, monitoring and evaluation activities related to the project.
Prepare monthly progress reports on project activities and submit to the PAM and DRM Thematic Lead for review.
Mobilize and create awareness among Government stakeholders, local leaders and communities on the LDSC-USNO funded Food Security & Nutrition project.
Ensure that beneficiary identification, selection, registration and verification are done as per set enrolment criteria and guidelines.
Ensure that correct monthly entitlements are distributed to the registered beneficiaries
Ensure that the project adheres to international standards for humanitarian programming such as the Sphere and Core Humanitarian Standards, PSEA and Code of Conduct
Establish child-friendly feedback and complaints mechanisms and ensure that community feedback is attended to within reasonable timeframes
Ensure that all project activities are conducted in a timely manner and completed within the approved project timeframe.
Monitor changes in the environment and adapt project implementation accordingly so that the project remains relevant and objectives achievable
Monitor and document project successes, challenges, stories of most significant changes and lessons learnt

Budget Control:
Ensure that the LDSC-USNO grant project budget is managed efficiently and effectively spent in accordance with the projects approved monthly and quarterly budget investment targets (burn rates).
Ensure that LDSC-USNO project records are properly kept and maintained as per Plan guidelines and donor requirements.

Reporting:
Using the agreed reporting templates and formats, prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and narrative reports as per the Grant/project reporting requirements, based on the strategies, goals and objectives of the project.

Networking:
Network with and identify opportunities for cooperation with other development stakeholders, e.g. other NGOs operating in the same area, Government departments and local leaders

Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming

Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge:
A degree in a development related discipline, e.g. Agriculture, Nutrition, Development Studies, Public Health, Disaster Management etc.
Minimum of 2 years extensive experience in development work at grassroots level;
Experience in emergency/relief programs will be an added advantage
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to plan, implement and evaluate detailed operational plans
Good team motivator, team building skills and able to work under strenuous conditions
Must hold a valid class 3 or 4 licence and should express interest to use a motor cycle
