Job Description

We Are Hiring : Professional Chef

Duties and Responsibilities

Creating Menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
• Supervising food preparation and ensuring that it is prepared as per requirements
• Controlling and directing the food preparation process
• Expertise in plating food, creativity and maximising customer enjoyment
• Approving and polishing dishes before they reach the customer
• Managing Kitchen Stocks
• Assisting with management of health and safety measures
• To take care of portions ensuring profits remain positive
• Ordering and purchasing stock and equipment
• Setting up the kitchen and restaurant prior to service time
• Cleaning the kitchen and restaurant during and after service time to maintain a smart environment all times
• Managing Kitchen Staff and other Chefs, working with them closely.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven 3 years experience as a
Professional Chef and
experience as a Sous-chef or
Head Chef is an added advantage
• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure remaining calm all the time.
• Ability to organize and quick thinking
• Knowledge of best cooking practices
• Strong Leadership Skills
• A keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced culinary knowledge and extensive cooking experience
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong business skills
• An understanding of ingredients and flavour
• Mature
• 30 years and above
• At least a Diploma in Culinary or
Cookery from a reputable School.
