Job Description

Hospital Warehouse (PVT) LTD is a leading manufacturing company in modern hospital equipment, office furnuture and laboratory setups, with the goal to serve the local market and beyond. In conjuction with our sister company Allied Safes (PVT) LTD, a leading designer and manufacturer of money safes, strongroom doors, gun cabinets, storage unit products and other security products; we are in the labour market looking for an experienced, vibrant and innovative Production Foreman/Supervisor.

The Production Foreman/Supervisor is responsible for planning, leading, directing, and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. He or she oversees and manages production shift employees and ensures compliance with workshop rules, safety, quality, and quantity standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees production operations on assigned shift(s).
• Prepares work schedules and cost to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment
• Maintains and monitors the job card system and daily production schedules.
• Report to management on a daily and weekly basis on targets, workshop and staff issues, breakdowns, wastages, thefts, staff evaluations, electrical issues and faults (ensure that all machines must be on plugs), workshop disputes and solutions, and way forward.
• Ensure First Aid Kit box is available and with contents as per NSSA regulations, also clothing, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures according to NSSA are followed.
• Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly.
• Ensure restroom facilities and workshops (clear game ways, all working stations) are cleaned daily which are subject to inspection.
• Oversee breaks times and lunchtimes are respected at all times to limit time wastages
• The foreman is responsible and answerable to set targets, material wastages, tools, machines, and all other equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills
• Act as a bridge to/from workshop staff to/from management.
• Oversee/answerable and report for workshop sections (sheet metal, welding, assembling, painting) and work hand in hand with stores on material/equipment/tools handling and updates.
• To meet clients/visitors/stakeholders for workshop touring, must be aware of staff compliments, machines and equipment, production process, gangways, and bays, etc.
• Ensure that each job/task/section is adequately staffed and advise accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a mechanical engineering degree or relevant qualification.
• Hands-on experiance and qualification in either sheet metal/ welding/ apinting and manufacturing of hospital equipment furniture/ office furniture/ money safes is an added advantage.
• Must have a strong engineering background with at least years of experience as a production supervisor at a manufacturing plant.
• Knowledge of process improvement, planning, budgeting, and production standards and certifications.
• Must be knowledgeable with NSSA industrial/ manufacturing /engineering guidelines.
• Strong leadership skills and must be able to head a diverse team successfully and resolve issues relating to personnel quickly and efficiently.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with production planning, reporting, controls, and instrumentation.
