Job Description

An exciting opportunity for the position of Procurement Officer has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced person at Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd. Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd is an extensive, local and international provider of high quality and durable timber-based solutions for both industrial, domestic and end user markets. The successful incumbent will report to the Procurement Executive and shall be based in Mutare.

The main purpose of the job is to assist in the effective and efficient management of procurement function of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares annual and individual Procurement plans in line with the organisation’s annual budget
• Prepares bidding documents in compliance with Public Procurement and Disposal of Asset Act
• Manages bidding processes, bidding meetings, clarifications and the receipt and opening of bids
• Secures the adoption of the appropriate method of procurement
• Maintains records of all purchases
• Carries out other duties within the scope of the job

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Supply Chain Management or professional diploma in supply chain management level 6 CIPS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
• Knowledge of ERP Accounting System is an added advantage
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in public procurement
