Applications are invited from CAPABLE TEAM PLAYERS, suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the positions listed below based at our head Office in Harare.

Procurement Officer
The incumbent will report to the Accounting Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities:
1. Procures goods and services cost effectively and efficiently in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (Chapter 22:23) and Public Procurement and Disposal of PublicAssets Regulations.
2. Performs market surveillance and research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
3. Evaluate bids and make recommendations to the Evaluation Committee based on sound commercial and technical specifications.
4. Compiles and submits procurement management reports to the Accounting Officer and Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe as required.
5. Maintains an updated contracts register and relationships with suppliers while continually seeking for additional vendors
6. Ensure value for money through negotiation with suppliers for better prices, payment terms and delivery periods.
7. Oversees the development of procurement contracts by liaising with user departments and the legal department in contract drafting, negotiation and contract management to ensure that the Corporation had valid procurement contracts.
8. Forecasts the likely levels of demand for services and products to meet the Corporation's requirements and monitors the stock levels to ensure business efficiency.
9. Contribute to overall Corporation business strategy and annual budget process.
10. Manage the procurement budget and ensure that expenditure is within budget.

Qualifications and Experience


Qualifications, job skills and competencies
• Proven experience of at least 10 years as a Procurement Practitioner with thorough knowledge of applicable Acts and Regulations in Public Procurement.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
• Team playerwho is innovative.
• Honesty and reliable.
• Degree in Purchasing and Supply or equivalent.
• Diploma in Purchasing and Supply-Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
• Possession of an MBAor MBL is an added advantage.
• Possession of strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Clean criminal record subject to further internal clearances and vetting.
