Job Description

Applications are invited from suitable candidates to fill the position of Procurement Manager at the hotel. The successful candidate must have the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB SHALL BE:
To effectively and efficiently source capital goods (perishables and non-perishables) for the Hotel whilst negotiating prices relative to the market demands and managing business relationship with authorized suppliers for the Hotel
BUDGET AND COST CONTROL:
The incumbent shall be expected to understand departmental requirements and develop for recommendation, the requisite
budget to ensure the departments are fully resourced to operate to expectation
To compare prices of goods from different suppliers, analyzing sales patterns and inventory levels of existing stock and staying up to date on market changes that would affect the supply and prices of goods
Perform best advantage procurement for the Hotel by negotiating with suppliers on price, quality and credit payment terms
PROCUREMENT POLICY AND PROCEDURE:
The incumbent shall implement and review systems to track procurement transactions to ensure adequate supporting
documentation and accuracy
In liaison with HODs review relevance of the purchase tracking and procurement processes for effective feedback and monitoring of procurement
Maintain a database of all approved suppliers and annually evaluate supplier performance. Ensure that purchases are made from approved suppliers
STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE DELIVERY:
It shall be the incumbent's responsibility to ensure that the Hotel's reputation is safeguarded and enhanced by professionalism
and adherence to business ethic
Prepares and processes purchase orders in accordance with the Hotel's policies and procedures
STAFF SUPERVISION:
The incumbent shall be responsible to draft up tasks for the department's staff and prioritize work according to the Hotels
requirements
• Identify individual training needs and recommend these for each member of the department

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Procurement, Supply and Logistics with working experience of at least three years - preferably in the
Hospitality or Commercial sector, in the same capacity
Should have membership to a professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement Have good, strong negotiation skills
Be a mature person between the ages 30 - 45 cars
