Job Description

NSSA is an organisation undergoing a transformation journey to position itself as a modern and relevant entity that delivers real value to its members through responsive social security services. The new NSSA conducts its business in an honest, accountable, and transparent manner and we seek to recruit like-minded individuals in the following areas:

Principal Data Management Officer X1 (Head Office): Grade 13 Reporting to the National Data Unit Manager, the successfully candidate will effectively and efficiently manage the Authority's membership, beneficiary and facilities data, with a focus on data quality, validity and relevance. This will be done through administrative processes that Include acquiring, validating, storing, protecting, and processing required data to ensure the accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of the data for all users and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities


Key Outputs
• Monitor the data quality through reports on employer, employee, beneficiary and facilities data
Issue exceptional reports to regional offices in order to effect required update which improves data integrity.
• Analyse data samples through spot checks to enable identification of anomalies in order to reduce unclean records on the database.
Train regional office records staff to enable standardisation of data processing, efficiency and achievement of targets.
Liaise with external organisations such as the Registrar General's office in order to solve issues relating to members' personal details.
• Design of input forms required to collect registration and updates data from NSSA members
• Monitor data quality process, identify data quality issue patterns, oversee remediation plans, implementation of data controls, and manage data quality remediation strategies.
Examine and check Data quality for consistency and accuracy i.e. Employer and Employee records.
• Facilitate the submission of quality data by all stakeholders for proper administration of Social Security Schemes through engagements and conducting teach-ins relating to data management.
• Review and respond to data quality requests and issues from both internal and external customers.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifying Requirements
• A Degree in Information Systems, Records Management or equivalent.
• A combined minimum of 3-years' experience in records processing/management and customer relationship management.
Key Competencies and Characteristics
• Sound knowledge of the Data management cycle
• Ability to interpret data and statistics.
• Leadership and management skills.
• Familiarity with quality standards and processes.
• Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and on a team on projects and tasks
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
• Understanding of NSSA wide core business processes
• Sound knowledge of NSSA's mandate, business model and strategy
• Appreciation of Social Security, OSH and actuarial matters
• Good report writing skills
• Negotiation skills
• Be familiar with the tools and methodology needed for successful data quality control
• Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders
• Ability to collaborate effectively across groups
