Job Description

To assist and support daily plant breeding and project-based activities under the supervision of the Research manager, Plant breeder /or field supervisor. To gain hands-on crop breeding experience. He/she will be assigned projects and develop her/his own project during the course of the internship

Duties and Responsibilities

•Assist and support field, laboratory and greenhouse work such as plant propagation, sowing, transplanting, harvesting, seed inventory management,
•Support trial data collection activities
•Collect, enter, and analyse experimental data
•Assist with seed packaging and seed shipments
•Participate in other research and extension activities
•Work with farmers that are doing research and extension projects
•Participate in weekly meetings and take minutes
•Reporting all achieved daily/weekly/monthly tasks, challenges and opportunities
•Assist in labour supervision
•Other duties assigned

Qualifications and Experience

Currently studying towards a Degree in Plant breeding, Crop Science, Agriculture,
English language fluency required
Eager to learn and work with various research groups
Ability to plan and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment
Individual must display a high degree of self-motivation, self-initiative, punctuality, and the ability to work well individually, as well as with others, through collaborative communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work extra hours and/or weekends when needed
