We seek to recruit an experienced and qualified Planning Engineer based at Freda Rebecca Gold Mine in Bindura.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Enforces Safety, Health and Environmental standards in line with ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant legal frameworks.
• Prepares departmental capital, labour and operational expenditure budgets for the Engineering Department in liaison with relevant section heads.
• Analyses actual departmental costs against budgeted costs for variance analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Reviews asset performance with regards to targeted equipment availability and reliability and implement necessary corrective action plans.
• Develops and implements maintenance strategies, procedures and methods and ensures that these are adhered to, in-line with the Reliability Centred Maintenance strategy.
• Oversees the planning and scheduling of all preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, condition monitoring and shutdown maintenance and their subsequent management from the EAMS system.
• Selects the most appropriate techniques and logical sequence of activities to complete project scope in liaison with Section Engineers.
• Accumulates, collects and analyses data and information required for planning and comes up with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Determines Life Cycle Cost (LCC) of criticalassets and recommend their rebuild, decommissioning and subsequent procurement of replacements.
• Conducts root cause analysis (RCA) for all major downtimes and puts action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Maintains a record for all key Mining Engineering
documents and records.
• Oversees the management of the CMMS system including all forms of data relating to Engineering KPls, backlog, asset register, accuracy and completeness of all Engineering work orders.
• Trains subordinates including tracking their career developments.
• Plans and reviews shutdown performance and drafts post-mortem reports and implement corrective action plans.
• Liaises with the procurement team to procure engineering spares and services as part of spare parts administration.
• Compiles month end and year end closing reports and any other reports as required by management.
• Evaluates contractors and service providers prior to engagement and ensures adherence to FRGM code of practice and SHEQ systems.
• Assists in recruitment and selection of potential
Engineering employees.
About You
• BSc (Hons) Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of five years experience in a similar role with underground trackless Gold mining experience.
• Should be a member of a recognised professional body i.e (ZIE).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to the success of this position.
• The candidate must also be an exceptional team leader with flexible attitude and sound work ethics.
• Should have sound knowledge of ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015 and must posses the ability to practice and promote safe work behaviour.
