Job Description

Location: Gwanda
Type of contract: Fixed term duration with a three-month probation period
Immediate Supervisor: Pharmacy Supervisor
Starting Date: December 2023
Objective of the Post:
To join mobile outreach teams in artisanal small-scale mining sites to provide accurate, timely and quality dispensing of
drugs according to medical prescriptions and MSF protocols, standards, and procedures to improve patient health.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Requirements:
• Responsible for packing and transporting medical supplies following best practices and protocols
• Dispense medication to patients according to medical prescriptions
• Provide clear and conscise instructions to patients with regards to use, side effects or any other relevant points
• Maintain minimum medical stocks for daily outreach, flag potential stockouts in advance, and place timely accurate
orders with the MSF Pharmacy Supervisor
• Maintain accurate dispensing and inventory records
• Monitor expiry dates and coordinate with Pharmacy Supervisor to manage FIFO/FEFO
• Working closely with clinical staff on intergrated patient care and self-care
• Participate in community health events and support health education initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

Educational and Professional Background:
• Valid Dispensary Certificate from Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ)
• Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy Drug Dispensing
• Minimum two years of experience working in pharmacy dispensing
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Motivation to work in an international/inter-cultural context with a humanitarian team spirit
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Clear knowledge & experience of all legislative instruments and procedures for medical supplies
• Experience using any ERP and Microsoft Office packages
• Strong command of English and local languages essential
