Position Summary
CARE Zimbabwe is seeking a proactive People and Culture Officer to support the
development and implementation of human resource strategies that align with our mission
of empowering communities. This role is essential for fostering a positive workplace culture,
ensuring employee engagement, and enhancing organizational effectiveness. The ideal
candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to inclusive practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
1. Human Resource Management
o Support recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening,
and interviewing.
o Support contracting process of new employees.
o Assist in onboarding and orientation for new employees, ensuring a smooth
transition into the organization.
2. Employee Engagement and Development
o Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
o Coordinate training and professional development programs to support staff
growth.
3. Policy Implementation, Compensation and Compliance
o Ensure compliance with labour laws and organizational policies, providing
guidance to staff on HR matters.
o Process payroll ensuring all statutory requirements are addressed.
o Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.

4. Organizational Culture
o Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture by facilitating team-
building activities and diversity initiatives.
o Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering open
communication.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or a related field; a professional
HR certification is a plus.
• Experience: At least 2- 3 years of experience in human resources or organizational
development, preferably in an international development context.
• Skills:
o Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Proficient in Belina and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Strong Administrative skills
o Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.

• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
