Job Description

We are a Grade-A multidisciplinary Private Hospital whose purpose is to inspire healthier communities by providing a wide range of specialist healthcare services underpinned by outstanding nursing care to achieve good clinical outcomes. A People and Culture Manager position to ensure the delivery of an effective human resource strategy, processes and services for the Hospital has arisen.
People and Culture Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

The Role
• Designs, and implements Strategy to align Human Resource policies, practices and programs
• Ensures People and Culture initiatives are engaging, collaborative in design and of a high standard to attract, rebuild and retain the capabilities of staff.
• Develops and implements best practices across the entire employee lifecycle including all employer obligations (legal and ethical) and a consistently positive employment experience.
• Designs, implements and leads and reviews initiatives including research and diagnostics (e.g annual employee engagement survey and exit interviews) to maximize the engagement of all employees and build organizational commitment to the desired culture.
• Identifies and develops workplace culture and change management initiatives in consultation with the General Manager.
• Coordinates staff recruitment activities with heads of departments and line managers in determining staffing needs, recruitment plans and provides guidance on recruitment.
• Recommends and employs the appropriate media for attracting candidates such as social media job platforms, electronic media and recruitment agencies etc.
• Guides people managers on performance-related issues and helps develop customized personal improvement plans when necessary.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure adherence to relevant legislation.
• Reviews the implemented culture initiatives for effectiveness in supporting organizational strategy
Participates in the designing, and implementations of staff wellness initiatives.
• Represents the Employer in wage negotiations at the medical industrial wage negotiations for the hospitals sector.
• Prepares quarterly Human Resources and Nominations (HRN) Committee Board reports.
• Participates in the company's strategy formulation and leads strategic planning on people and culture.

Qualifications and Experience

The Person

A performance driven individual with the following minimum qualifications and attributes, is sought:
• Degree in Human Resources Social Sciences.
Diploma with Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe is of essence.
6 years' experience in a management position.
Membership of Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe.
Strategic thinking and planning.
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Analytical and problems solving abilities.
Team player with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Recruitment, payroll, talent management, industrial relations and training knowledge.
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
