Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold at least a doctoral degree in Agriculture (Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Crop Science, Crop Protection), a masters degree in Agriculture (Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Crop Science, Crop Protection) and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1-degree classification and must be able to teach at least four of the following modules at undergraduate level using online and/or face-to-face methods: Plant Biology, Introduction to Soil Science, Agricultural Practice, Introduction to Genetics, Molecular Biology, Introduction to Biochemistry, Plant Botany and Physiology, Agronomy of Legume Crops, Fertilizer Management and Plant Nutrition, Sugarcane Production and Technology, Farm Management, Agricultural Statistics, Weed Ecology and Management, Entomology and Insect Pest Management, Seed Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Small Grain Production, Plant Biotechnology, Agricultural Extension, Farm Management, Environmental Science and Pollution, Meteorology and Climate Change and Heritage based Natural Resources Management. Teaching experience at Tertiary or University level is mandatory. Possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education will be an added advantage.
