DEPARTMENT OF BANKING AND FINANCE

1.4.1 BACHELOR OF COMMERCE HONOURS DEGREE IN FINANCIAL ENGINEERING, RISK MANAGEMENT, INSURANCE, BANKING AND FINANCE (5 POSTS)

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Finance, Risk Management and Insurance or a Master’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Financial Engineering or Risk Management and Insurance and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1-degree classification. Teaching experience at tertiary or university level and possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education will be an added advantage. Successful applicants must be able to supervise students’ Masters and Undergraduate dissertation researches and to teach at least three (3) of the following modules T undergraduate level using online and / face to face methods: Research Methods in Finance and Insurance, Financial Innovation and Structured Finance, Financial Engineering, International Finance, Health and Disability Insurance, Retirement Funding, Aviation Risk and Marine Insurance and Financial Markets Institutions and Regulations.

1.4.2 MASTER OF COMMERCE DEGREE IN FINANCE (5 POSTS)
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree or a Master’s Degree in Finance or Economics and a relevant first degree with at least a 2.1-degree classification. Teaching experience at tertiary or university level and possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education will be an added advantage. Successful applicants must be able to supervise students' Master’s dissertation researches and to teach at least three of the following modules at Masters level using online and/ or face to face methods: Financial Markets and Regulations, Financial Econometrics and Research Methods, Risk Management, Financial Statements Analysis, Investment Analysis, Corporate Financial Strategy, Advanced Financial Engineering, Advanced Financial Modelling, Fund Management, Multinational Business Finance and Trade.
