Job Description
POSITION : ORAL HEALTH THERAPISTS (2 POSITIONS)
GRADE: 7
LOCATION : BEATRICE ROAD INFECTIOUS DISEASE HOSPITAL
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL ORAL HEALTH THERAPIST
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above-mentioned vacancies in City Health Department.
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for provision of comprehensive dental care to the public, attending the dental clinic and satellite clinic as well as management of such clinics under remote supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESULT AREAS
• Performs dental procedures like extractions, taking X-rays, fillings scaling and polishing.
Dispensing of drugs to the patients.
Supervising subordinates in the dental clinic.
Assists in the training of Oral Health Assistant and those on attachment.
Participate in Oral Health awareness campaigns.
And any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in Dental Therapy or equivalent
Registered with the Medical and Dental Practitioner Council of Zimbabwe
Current practising certificate
• Plus 3 years practical experience as a Dental Therapist
DESIRED COMPETENCES
• Ability to work under pressure
Team player and good leadership qualities
Excellent communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
