Job Title: Operations Manager – Medical Aid

Location: Harare, Zimbabwe


Job Description:

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our medical aid services. You will oversee the claims processing, provider management, and member services departments, and work closely with other teams to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the medical aid, ensuring high-quality service delivery to members and healthcare providers.
2. Manage and mentor a team of operational staff, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, high performance and continuous improvement
3. Oversee claims processing, provider management, and member services departments
4. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the member experience, focusing on responsiveness, empathy, and efficiency
5. Oversee claims processing, provider management, and member services, optimizing workflows and reducing bottlenecks.
6. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to drive service excellence and operational efficiency.
7. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that align with our organizational goals.
8. Identify opportunities for growth and improvement, and lead initiatives to drive business outcomes.
9. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
10. Identify and mitigate operational risks, implementing controls and contingency plans as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in operations management, preferably in the healthcare or insurance industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving business outcomes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
