Job Description
We are looking for an organized, experienced and driven operations officer/manager who will effectively lead our business unit operations in the Board and Timber industry with a focus on improving efficiency and viability of our operations. Candidate must be a strong leader with excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding business intellect and a proven innovator, preferably in wood technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
General oversight of the company’s business operations with an emphasis on product and revenue growth to maximise the value of the business.
• Overall responsibility of driving corporate strategy to expand the business in a sustainable and profitable manner.
• Leadership and coordination of all departments within the business unit in line with best management practises to ensure that the company’s strategic goals are achieved.
• Applies knowledge of the wood technology industry in product innovation and new business development to maximise capacity utilisation.
• Support the formulation and implementation of the company’s marketing and sales strategy to cement the brand, stimulate growth and achieve sales targets.
• Effective staff management and human resource planning for the business unit.
• Ensuring adherence to budgets and effective functioning of controls across the business unit.
• Effectively manages business risks and ensures that business operations are in compliance with the relevant industry rules and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidate Specification
Experience: 10 years working experience in the Board and Timber, Wood Technology or related industries along the Wood value chain (3 of which at managerial or supervisory level)
Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in Wood Technology or related fields, Degree in Commercials (preferably Business Management, Marketing or Administration).
Required skills: Wood technology and Innovation, Business administration, Branch management, Marketing, Business development, Leadership and Communication.
