Job Description

This role will be responsible for leading Reporting & Operations Management.
Reporting: Leading team to analyse, forecast and optimise data performance together with in-depth reporting to management on all activities of development of BI/Reports, end to end Analytics, new reports, BI custom reports, custom extracts, maintain reports, data modelling within area of responsibility.

Operations: Leading the operations management services within the Technology Centre of Excellence (TCoE) namely Operations Support (1st and 2nd tier operations support, 3rd tier vendor support), performance management, DevOps support, Monitoring and Reporting, Optimisation, Exception Management, Maintenance, Failover/Disaster Recovery, Identity & Access Management, systems maintenance, Optimisation, Exception Management.
Reporting:

Leading team to analyse, forecast and optimise data performance together with in-depth reporting to management on all activities of development of BI/Reports, end to end Analytics, new reports, BI custom reports, custom extracts, maintain reports, data modelling within his/her area of responsibility.

Operations:

Leading the delivery of development of new services, changes, service retirement/decommissioning and service support and Operations management services within the TCoE namely Operations Support (1st and 2nd tier operations support, 3rd and 4th tier vendor support), performance management, DevOps support, Monitoring and Reporting, Optimisation, Exception Management, Maintenance, Failover/Disaster Recovery, Identity & Access Management, systems maintenance, Optimisation, Exception Management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research, analyses, and provide relevant information. Assists with report backs and provides performance feedback.

Makes recommendations for the selection of strategies and decisions pertaining to the areas of responsibilities Optimisation of data to enhance performance. Trend and highlighting of performance.

Recurring success and failure analytics and optimisation strategy.

Performance based adhoc reporting for specific focus areas of concern.

Managing and guiding team of reporting, analytics, and operations.

Aligns technology to business needs.

Accountable for execution of tactical technology operation management within the TCoE which aligns to the business plans (derived from BU Strategy) at operational level.

Manages direct Operations Technical Team.

Owns operational efficiency and quality including an operations balanced scorecard incorporating finance, people, process, and customer dimensions of the business.

Integrates decision making across all these spectrums.

Contributes to projects impacting on deliverables for the TCoE.

Makes major operational decisions aligned to the business plan.

Provides operational and best practice context for internal environment.

Builds relationships with peers and or colleagues that impact across business areas. Responsible for infrastructure management in area of responsibility.

Responsible for IT Contracts Management.

Responsible for change management around IT implementations and upgrades.

Responsible for clear and effective communication to team and business.

Provides technical consulting services where required. Accountable for financial management in area of responsibility. Manages Projects. Responsible for people management - includes talent management, change leadership.

Accountable for delivering the demand pipeline of projects, programmes, and product iterations required to develop and release reporting & analytic services as required.

Manage, oversee, and take ultimate accountability for in-scope delivery units, enabling them to effectively deliver through active sponsorship, leadership and business involvement in specific initiatives to ensure they meet time, cost and quality requirements.

Manage maintenance and continuous improvements to ensure Business derive maximum value from the solutions provided.

Manage budgeting of portfolio projects.

Accountable for ensuring effective planning and coordination for the delivery unit team(s), overseeing, and directing resource scheduling, estimation, work breakdown and work package definition, and backlog planning.

Facilitate and guide delivery, decisions, and prioritisation.

Accountable for ensuring the readiness of the company’s IT and Business for all new and changed services through effective transition planning in collaboration with business and relevant leaders in organisational change management.

Accountable for providing projects and programme leadership, managing and coordinating the coherent activities needed to design, develop, and release services or service changes.

Ensure that risks and issues are effectively managed, communication is appropriate and timely, and resources are efficiently utilised within the cost and time constraints applicable.

Ensure critical Business Support issues are addressed within agreed timelines.

The role of a technical operations manager involves various functions geared towards making sure that the technical requirements are handled effectively.

Oversee the hiring, training, and monitoring of technical operations staff.

Provide inspired leadership and ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way.

Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.

Formulate strategic and operational objectives.

Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability.

Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions.

Develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures.

Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.

Produce reports to update company management on progress of operations.

Mentor and motivate a technical team to put in their best effort to improve level of performance.

Prepare and manage operations budget to achieve set objectives.

Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures when performing job duties.

Conduct annual staff appraisals and assessments to determine staff training needs.

Liaise with other departmental heads to plan and implement action plans for improved technical operations.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technical processes, functions, and requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications / Experience (Required for the Job)

Bachelor’s Degree, CA – reporting & analytics or 10 years equivalent experience.

Master’s degree or certification in business administration is essential – Operations or 5 years equivalent experience.

Strong Financial Services Industry experience is an absolute must. IT Implementation (e.g., CMM and CMMI), IT Service Delivery and Support (e.g., ITIL Foundation), Project Management fundamentals (e.g., PMI or equivalent) and Industry-specific certifications.

10+ years of experience in a portfolio delivery environment with demonstrated complex project delivery success.

Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Customer/Partner Relationships, Product & Technology.

Expertise, Project Management, Delivery Management, Financial Management (P&L) and Strategic Insight.

Time management Skills: Managers of technical operations are well versed in co-ordinating technical processes to ensure timely completion of projects.

Proficient in managing technical human resources to meet the requirements of an organization.
