Objective of the Post
Support and mentor City of Harare Nurses in providing comprehensive nursing care to adolescents on Sexual Reproductive Health and Mental Health Support, treatment, and follow-up of patients according to doctors’ prescriptions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for adolescents

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
• Mentoring COH and Epworth nurses on ASRH services at Edith Opperman, Matapi and Epworth site clinics
• Provide health care services for Mbare project activities (3 sites, outreach clinic and in the community) including contraceptive, ANC, PAC, MHPSS and OPD.
• Offer and conduct PITC testing, including internal referral/linkage for further management and follow up at OI/ART department for HIV- positive tested.
• Identify and refer adolescents to the mental health nurse, asses their psychological state and support additionally refer to social worker internally or other external health facility according to their needs.
• Screening for STI and offer treatment
• Data collection, record keeping, analysis and reporting
• Participate in Health promotion activities/exhibition if required in community outreach and schools’ programs
• Participate/Contribute in planning and conducting adolescent focus group discussion, “teen mums ’clubs” and “HIV patients’ adherence clubs”.
• Ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover and reporting any problematic exceptional cases that may arise

Qualifications and Experience

Educational and professional background
• Degree/Diploma in Nursing and registration with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe
• Degree/Diploma in Psychology/Counselling or equivalent
• Certificate in HIV testing and experience in providing long term contraceptives is an added advantage
Professional and Personal Requirements
• Minimum 3 years work experience in clinical management of reproductive health.
• Experience in SRH including Long-Acting Contraceptive, perinatal care and OPD.
• Experience in adult and pediatric HIV and AIDS clinical management, monitoring patients on
• Management and participation in Emergency response.
• Experience working with young people predominately adolescents and diagnosis of minor ailments
• Experience working in partnership with MoHCC and other health services stakeholders
• Working experience with an international NGO is an asset
• Microsoft Office packages, proficiency in data collection tools, programmatic indicators, and reporting
• Good oral and written English language and any local language
