Job Description

Job Summary
Cimas Health Group's purpose is to inspire healthier communities by providing global standard health and wellness solutions. In pursuant to this purpose, Cimas is searching for a Nurse Counsellor to join the organization and provide nursing services to patients in line with Cimas policies, procedures and professional standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Checking and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Ensuring availability and adequacy of consumables e.g. checking of oxygen, resuscitation tray, sterile packs, restocking of sundries.
• Processing charge sheets for sundries used for treatment into the system daily.
• Checking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse and weight for patients to be attended.
• Monitoring the triaging of clients in line with the patient management protocol.
• Carrying out procedures such as injections, dressings, nebulisation as prescribed by the Doctor in line with infection control techniques.
• Preparing trolleys for various procedures and participates in procedures being conducted by the Doctor.
• Conducting Nurse consultations, counselling sessions (escalates when need arises) and conducts tests such as HIV, Malaria, Diabetes, Pregnancy.

Qualifications and Experience

Key Competencies
The ideal candidate should be able to formulate and execute actionable plans to achieve set goals. The ability to use Clinic Information Systems, statistical analysis and research skills, effective communication and good interpersonal skills is essential.
Qualifications
• Diploma in General Nursing.
• VCT Counselling Certificate.
• Practicing Nurse with more than 2 years working experience.
