A Zimbabwean registered local NGO is seeking for the services of an experienced and qualified professional to take up the role of Director based at the organisation’s headquarters in Harare. The position is responsible for providing strategic oversight on operations, technical guidance on programming and ensuring overall performance of the organisation, in line with the set policies and procedures, donor guidelines, international best practice and expectations for accountability and transparency.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities
Supervising the production of narrative reports to donors to fulfill donor accountability requirements and update strategic partners on the progress made in the implementation of programs; Championing the production of a strategic plan in order to articulate a clear way forward for the organization and align all resources towards the strategic direction; Leadership and supervision of subordinates to ensure alignment of all efforts with project requirements; Marketing the organization to ensure that the organization’s projects and services are well articulated and understood by all key stakeholder, receive support and visibility nationally and internationally; Facilitating workshops in order to ensure effective service delivery to all project beneficiaries; Recruitment and dismissal of staff to ensure that the organization has the requisite skills and competencies mix required for effective service delivery; Organizing and facilitating board meetings to ensure that requirements are in place; Facilitating periodic audits in order to ensure that effective controls, processes and risk mitigation measures are put in place; Ensure compliance with Musasa Finance standards and policies; Oversee budgeting processes; Ensure regular financial reporting to board and donors etc; Networking and building strategic alliances with key stakeholders in order to ensure alignment with national efforts by other organizations and government policies; To grow the Musasa Project brand and maintain its reputation for it to become the most popular gender violence organization nationally; Lobbying key government officials and institutions in order to influence the creation and effective enforcement of relevant systems and legislation; Writing project proposals in order to mobilize funding for all projects in line with Musasa project’s Mandate; Ability to scan and analyze the economic, political and business environment in which the organization operates; Very good report and proposal writing skills

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Social Sciences / Development / MBA; Postgraduate qualifications in project planning and management; 8 years’ experience in development work, 5 of which must be at senior management level with special emphasis on HIV/AIDS and gender related work; Senior project management experience with at least ten years of demonstrated successful leadership in managing large, complex, donor-funded programs within non-governmental organizations; Experience with GBV and welfare programs, prevention, systems strengthening, capacity building, service delivery, quality improvement or policy development is desired; Excellent financial Management skills; Strong Problem solving abilities; Advanced computer literacy; Must be of high integrity and have traceable references; Excellent verbal & written skills, proficiency in English; Clean class 4 Driver’s License.
