Music Instrument Instructor (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaching piano and keyboard lessons;
• Teaching the use of wind instruments;
• Teaching choral music;
• Teaching band, orchestra, or a combination of all
• Teaching theory of Western music;
• Teaching the use of African instruments;
• Working with students on plays, concerts, and other arranged music events at the institution; and
• Any other related duties as assigned by the Head of department and or the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The applicant must be a holder of a Higher National Diploma in Music or its equivalent, OR a holder of ABRSM Grade 5 Piano proficiency certificate plus three (3) years post graduate working experience in institutions of higher learning and the music industry. In addition, the applicant must be a holder of Grade 8 Theory of Music Certificate. An ability to competently play a wide range of Western musical instruments including wind instruments will be an added advantage.
