Musasa is seeking to invite applications for the Provision of External Audit Services for the Year 2024.
Musasa is a national NGO that started work in 1988 as the first ever and only organization in Zimbabwe focusing on Violence against Women, (VAW). Musasa provides direct relief and support to survivors of gender based violence through its provision of counselling services, basic legal advice, temporary shelter and advocacy. Musasa has offices in Bulawayo, Harare, Masvingo and Gweru and has eleven (11) community-based shelters in Bubi, Buhera, Chikomba, Gutu, Gokwe, Marange, Mazowe, Bikita, Mutare, Nemamwa and Mwenezi as well as three (3) urban shelters in Harare, Bulawayo and Gweru.
SCOPE OF WORK, COMMENCEMENT AND DURATION OF CONTRACT
We would like to engage a reputable audit firm to carry-out the constitutional audit of Musasa Project for the financial year ending December 31, 2024. The objective of Musasa audit is to obtain reasonable assurance that the financial statements reflect a true and fair view of the financial position of the organisation.
The audit will be performed in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”), IFAC Code of Ethics and International Standards on Auditing (“ISA”). The audit report will include an Independent Auditors Report (Opinion) on the financial statements. The audit will also include such other required schedules or analyses as Musasa has determined necessary in order to ensure that program resources are being properly managed. The auditors should assess the organization’s compliance with policies and procedures.
The contract will commence on the 1st of January 2025 and will operate for a minimum period of three (3) years. Musasa Project retains the right to extend the contract beyond the three (3) years for reasons it deems fit for a stated length of period.
The External Auditor will:
1) Perform a standard financial audit of Musasa’s annual financial activity to determine its financial status and compliance with policies and procedures.
2) Perform auditing and accounting tests to determine the reliability, integrity and internal control system.
3) Examine accounting records such as general ledgers, assets/liability records, income/expenditure accounts, source documents and payroll journals to verify that transactions have been properly recorded and are following applicable regulations.
4) Prepare an Audit Report and Management letter with recommendations for corrective action applying professional judgment and interpretation of applicable rules and standards.
5) Submit the Audit Report to Musasa by the 25th of April following the end of period being audited.
6) Apply skill and due care throughout the audit process to ensure delivery of work of highest quality.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1) Valid Operating License for the current period.
2) Valid Registration certificate.
3) Valid Tax Clearance Certificate.
4) At least three (3) Referees and Recommendation letters certifying previous experience in auditing NGOs.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The proposal submitted should not exceed 20 pages exclusive of the statutory requirements which shall be attached separately.
The proposal subject line should clearly read, “RE: EXTERNAL AUDITORS 2024.”
