To diagnose and repair faults in motor vehicles, as well as perform wheel alignments to ensure vehicles are running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vehicle Diagnostics and Repair:
- Diagnose faults in motor vehicles using specialized equipment and techniques.
- Repair faults in engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle systems.
- Replace worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned ones.
2. Wheel Alignment:
- Perform wheel alignments on motor vehicles using specialized equipment.
- Check and adjust camber, caster, and toe angles to ensure proper alignment.
- Advise customers on the importance of proper wheel alignment and the benefits of regular checks.
3. Vehicle Inspections:
- Conduct routine inspections on motor vehicles to identify potential problems.
- Advise customers on necessary repairs and maintenance.
4. Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Repair and replace faulty components such as batteries, starters, and alternators.
5. Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers.
- Explain repairs and maintenance in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Qualifications:
- Certificate or Diploma in Motor Vehicle Repair or a related field.
- Wheel alignment certification or training.
2. Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience as a motor vehicle technician.
- Experience with wheel alignment equipment and procedures.
3. Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of motor vehicle systems and components.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
4. Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
