Duties and Responsibilities • Perform routine and emergency repairs on the university’s fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment.
• Assist in generating specifications for the procurement of spare parts and related materials.
• Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to ensure vehicles and equipment are functioning efficiently.
• Perform maintenance checks and preventative measures to avoid potential malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Participate in departmental duties as assigned, including assisting in fleet management and logistics.
Qualifications and Experience
• 5 Ordinary Level passes, including Science, Mathematics and English Language.
• Skilled Worker Class 1 Journeyman Card/Certificate and National Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics. Possession of a National Diploma in Automotive Engineering or related field will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
• At least 3 years post-qualification experience in motor vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Possession of valid driver’s license is required for this post.
