Position Summary
The MEAL Assistant, reporting to the Advisor: Programme Quality, Learning & Accountability (PQLA), will
support active learning and feedback for the Local Right Programmes (LRPs).

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include
documenting outputs and outcomes, assisting in monitoring project indicators and tracking project
performance against set targets, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines, supporting the preparation
of regular progress reports and presentations, and assisting with proposal development. The role also
involves capacity building, data management (especially using the Synergy Indicata database and toll-free
facility), and collaborating with the PQLA Advisor and technical experts to collect data, generate reports,
and meet program and donor requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements:
➢ Degree in Development Studies, Agriculture, Mathematics, Information systems, Economics, Statistics or
related field
➢ Post Graduate qualification in a related field will be an added advantage
➢ At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in the NGO sector
Skills and Competencies:
➢ Good level of proficiency in Windows Excel and quantitative analysis
➢ Capacity to produce high quality briefs and reports
➢ Self-starter and ability to work with little supervision
➢ Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills to develop effective working relationships quickly with
people from different cultural backgrounds
➢ Demonstrated skills in M&E, data management and quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
➢ Ability to support partners and field staff working at a distance to achieve results against program
objectives/targets
➢ Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills
➢ High level of attention to detail to ensure correct entering of data
➢ Able to be decisive and take risks
