Job Description

Sustainable Agriculture Technology (SAT) is a local NGO registered as a PVO in Zimbabwe and is the administrative lead on the EU-funded Integrated Landscape Management Support Project promoting greater social, livelihood, and environmental prosperity, sustainability, and resilience of communities living adjacent to Gonarezhou National Park, Chiredzi District, Zimbabwe. In partnership with Chiredzi RDC and partner communities we are therefore interested in developing a comprehensive and geospatially explicit monitoring and evaluation system for information collection, data management, and reporting for all aspects of community development, livelihoods, environmental sustainability and resilience in Wards neighbouring Gonarezhou National Park in Chiredzi District.

Duties and Responsibilities

Invitation is hereby extended for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified monitoring and evaluation professionals and organisations with requisite experience in working in remote rural areas of Zimbabwe to provide the following services:
i. Development of comprehensive data collection and monitoring tools, questionnaires, and systems tailor-made to our landscape and programming using ODK / Kobo Collect and compatible open-source GIS systems.
ii. Programming of Android devices and training of local community enumerators and extension staff to develop and conduct surveys, focal group discussions, and key informant interviews, and to collect requisite qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial information on an ongoing basis.
iii. Lead and coordinate the undertaking of a comprehensive baseline survey in conjunction with local extension staff and community enumerators – in 10 (Ten) Wards neighbouring Gonarezhou NP, Chiredzi District.
iv. Development of systems for data collection, data-management, and reporting – including:
a. Development of quantitative, qualitative, and GIS georeferenced databases and data management systems – and training of SAT-WILD staff on management and update thereof
b. Development of automated queries, dashboards, and reporting systems to inform our ongoing project management and programming to assess (i) achievement of Programme milestones, aims and objectives and (ii) impacts of the Programme on livelihoods, capacity, attitudes and perceptions of landscape partners and beneficiaries.

How to Apply

Expressions of Interest (EOI) should be submitted on an official letterhead by email to infowild@satzim.org by 17Hr00 Central African Time on Monday 31 July 2023 and should include (i) a brief description of organisational background, qualification, experience, and capacity; (ii) links to current websites / social media pages illustrating capacity and experience; and (iii) contact details for credible, traceable references.
NOTE: no financial proposals, budgets, workplans, or timelines are required at this stage.
Applicants will be assessed and shortlisted by the Project Procurement Committee which reserves the right to: (i) Reject any Proposal in favour of any another, (ii) Reject all Proposals submitted, or (iii) Request any additional information or clarification from specific Applicants. Where verification is required, supporting documents and/or additional information will be requested after reviewing the EOIs received. It is important that prospective Applicants make these documents and information available upon request.
NOTE: Only successful shortlisted candidates will be notified, therefore if you do not receive a response from The Project Procurement Committee your EOI has been deemed unsuccessful and further correspondence will not be entered into.
Shortlisted applicants will be notified and provided with a formal Invitation to Tender (ITT) by COB Friday 11 August 2023.
