The EpiC Project is currently seeking
The Technical Specialist DDD Pilot App who will work under the direction of the EpiC Technical Director to design, implement and manage all technical and programmatic aspects of the EpiC Zimbabwe DDD App pilot activity. Technical Specialist Consultant will be based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe under the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) funded Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Technical Specialist will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for working with OPHID to successfully lead the DDD App pilot implementation in Zimbabwe
• Provides technical assistance and capacity development and ensures successful completion of activities in line with the approved workplan on time and within budget
• Provides technical and programmatic support to update the DDD App, building health care worker and CHW capacity to use the DDD App, and documenting and sharing best practices in client data and supply inventory management and other related services.
• Conduct trainings/orientations (virtual + in-person) for OPHID, public health facility staff, and CHWs on the DDD App
• Work with the FHI 360 DDD App developer and local partners to continuously update and refine the DDD App to best support the mitigation of donor commodities loss risk.
• Work with EpiC HQ counterparts to adapt DDD App training materials to the updated DDD App
• Develop a Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for the use of the DDD App incorporating best practices
• Oversee data collection and reporting using the developed electronic data system ensuring quality and validity of data.
• Collect and analyze pilot data
• Develop a final pilot report and present on pilot results.
• Represent EpiC in engagements with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) and local partners and at technical working group (TWG) meetings as needed
• Act as a liaison between the FHI 360 HQ, OPHID, CHWs, and relevant Governmental associations
• Provide regular updates on activities, timelines, and challenges to FHI 360 HQ
• Support development of reports to donors

3. Qualifications and Experience

The following are the minimum qualifications required for the position:
• A health-related degree and at least 8 years relevant professional experience; MPH or MSc in Public Health or a related field will be an added advantage; Preference for candidates with experience in implementing community health programs related to HIV/AIDS ART services.
• Experience working in hospitals and/or community health practices and familiarity with electronic data systems and mobile applications is essential
• At least two years of successful experience working with the Government of Zimbabwe at national, provincial, and/or district levels and familiarity with the Government of Zimbabwe electronic data systems.
• Experience conducting baseline survey including collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
• HIV/AIDS programing experience and ability to understand the full range of issues around ART services, pharmaceutical care, and supply chain as it applies to HIV/AIDS.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish and maintain interpersonal and professional relationships with USG, host-country counterparts and representatives from other key local stakeholders such as NGOs and CSOs;
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, including proven ability to develop and communicate a common vision among diverse partners;
• Self-starter, results-driven individual with excellent program management experience and skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
