Zimasco (Pvt) limited, a major player In Zimbabwe's Ferrochrome Production, has an exciting, and challenging career opportunity at its Mining Division.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced persons to for the following position on a 3 year fixed term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance: -
Mining Contracts Manager
Reporting to the Mine Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the company's mining operations with the sections concerned.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Day to day supervision of mining operations to ensure that set production, cost and SHEQ targets are met
• Ensuring that all mining operations within the section are run in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Implementing optimised mine plans and designs
• Implementing efficient and effective management of mining projects within the section
• Continuous mining process optimisation
• Mining contracts management
• Stakeholder and industrial relations management
Qualifications and Experience
• BSc Degree in Mining Engineering OR National Diploma in Mining from the Zimbabwe School of Mines
• Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience, 2 of which should have been at Shift Boss level or higher in an underground, hard rock mining environment
• A Full Blasting Licence
• Microsoft Office Skills are an essential requirement
• Sound knowledge of HS and EP practices
• Mine Managers' Certificate of Competency and working knowledge of mining software are additional advantages
• Experience in both underground and surface mining is a distinct advantage
