METALLURGIST
Department: Metallurgy / Processing
Location: Sabi Gold Mine - Zvishavane
Reports To: Processing Manager / Plant Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and motivated professionals to join Sabi Gold Mine as Metallurgist. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and optimising metallurgical processes to improve plant performance, recovery, efficiency, and product quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor plant performance and metallurgical recovery.
Conduct sampling, test work, data analysis, and process optimisation.
Support crushing, milling, flotation/leaching, thickening, and recovery processes.
Prepare metallurgical reports and recommend process improvements.
Ensure compliance with SHEQ procedures and operational standards.
* Work closely with production, laboratory, maintenance, and technical teams.
Qualifications and Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or equivalent.
* Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a mining or mineral processing environment.
* Experience in gold processing operations will be an added advantage.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of mineral processing systems.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
* Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
