Job Description

ZIMBABWE MINING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION IS INVITING APPLICATIONS FROM SUITABLY QUALIFIED PERSONS FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION:
Metallurgical Manager
Reporting to the Business Development Manager

Duties and Responsibilities


Duties and Responsibilities inter-alia;
> Produce long term forecasts of plant production and development of plants.
> Plan, lead, organize and control metallurgy activities of the Corporation and operating mines and projects.
> Manage, coordinate and direct all metallurgy activities of the corporation.
> Identify funding opportunities and facilitate, coordinate and scale up funded programs and projects in respective departments.
> Recommending potential targets for plant developments and partakes in negotiating agreements to acquire mineral rights.
> Engage in investment plans for excess kinds in consultation with the Business Development Manager.
> Prepare a short term and long-term budget for business development, in relation to plant availability.
> Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, in collaboration with technical personnel and executive management.
> Coordinate resource mobilization at department Level.
> Develop short to long term business development for the corporation.
> Ensure that good relationships are built and maintained with existing and potential stakeholders and shareholders especially the government, both within the country and abroad.
> Advising management on the effects and impact of mining legislation affecting the industry and the Corporation
> Ensure that business activities at operations are conducted in a manner that promotes cost effectiveness, efficiency and best practice.
> Coordinate the activities at all joint ventures ensuring that the interest and role of ZMDC is adequately fulfilled.
> Institute research into beneficiation programmes in satisfaction of the ZMDC mandate
> Review the market regularly and report on new products available, trends, new needs and how we fair compared with competitors with regards to product suitability, premium rates, charges, underwriting terms and conditions and selling methods
> Develop new products related to existing portfolio of products Whin area of responsibility and on agreement.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications/Attributes:
> BSc. (Hons} in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
> Five years in the field experience
> Ability to train and supervise subordinates.
