About
A faith based organisation seeks to capture, consolidate and document church led interventions that increase awareness and conversation on the positive impacts of civic society organisations (CSOs) in Zimbabwe. This is upon the realisation that the story of the contribution of CSOs in the lives of ordinary citizens can contribute towards minimising challenges these organisations are facing as they contribute to the betterment of Zimbabweans’ lives. Furthermore, this work seeks to strengthen coordination of faith based organisations, who are part of CSOs in response to the challenges this sector is facing. Additionally, this project is in response to the factual and timeous provision of information on developments relating to CSOs operating space with the understanding that shared understanding and convergence of the CSOs will help to foster much needed transparency and accountability for the improved welfare of our citizens.

Hence, the faith based organisation requires the services of a media monitor who will be able to capture timeous developments relating to the work of CSOs in Zimbabwe.

Scope of work
The Media Monitor tracks and monitors media developments (social media, print and other media) on the CSOs’ operating space.

Duties and Responsibilities

Purpose and objectives
The Media Monitor will: Develop Media Monitoring tool for guiding the systematic tracking of issues of interest considering CSOs’ operating space; On a daily basis look for media stories and collect citizens’ voices (online and traditional print or radio) on developments in operating space for CSOs; Consolidate Daily and weekly analysis reports on the collected information to be submitted to the lead person timeously; Timeous sharing of content (simplified) with the Social Media Campaign for packaging and dissemination.

Deliverable outputs and timeframe
The faith based organisation works on strict deliverables and milestones and expects: Media monitoring tracking tool; Daily media monitoring on social media and other media spaces; Weekly media report on media developments; Monthly report (Which is a compilation of the weekly reports); Preparing for and attending project update meetings with the organisations project focal persons; Support the social media campaign that seeks to celebrate the work of CSOs in Zimbabwe.

Reporting
The Media Monitor will work closely with the Team Leader, Project Lead and Communications Lead in the Programs and RIPD Departments.

Technical and administrative support
The Media Monitor will receive technical and administrative support from the Organisation; The Team Leader, Project Lead and Communications Lead will ensure that technical support is received from the organisation MEAL; Communications and Council Programs for some specific support required by the Media.

Budget
The Media Monitor will be paid the sum total of two hundred dollars USD 200.00 on a monthly basis, for three months. This amount also covers data allocation for the media monitor to conduct their daily work.

Qualifications and Experience

Skills and experience
To be considered for this task the Media Monitor must: Be familiar with faith based organisations work in the CSO space; Must be familiar with the CSO sector and its players; Must be analytical and thorough in consolidation of information; Have sound writing and reporting skills; Exposure to information gathering in various spaces
