BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING UNIT
4.4.2.1 Mechatronics Technician (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
• Train students and conduct research related to biomedical engineering.
• Train students how to perform equipment maintenance and repair.
• Train students how to conduct calibration and testing of equipment.
• Train students how to perform Installation and Integration of hospital equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs,
and calibration results.
• Adhere to regulatory guidelines and standards (such as
FDA regulations) to ensure equipment compliance and
patient safety.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must atleast have:
• A Diploma or HND in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering or similar qualifications.
• Degree in Mechatronics an added advantage.
• Technical certifications in mechatronics, robotics or automation are an added advantage.
• Specialized training in medical device design. Prototyping and testing
• 2 years' experience.
• Key Skills includes:
- Mechatronics principles including robotics, automation and control systems.
- Proticiency in programming languages such as ac, ctt, python or matlab.
- Experience in microcontrollers such as ardium or rasberry P1.
Knowledge of sensor and actuators including their
application in medical devices.
Troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software's and 3D printing.
