STAFF VACANCY
Position: MECHANICAL FITTER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following position.
SUMMARY
The position is responsible for carrying out mechanical maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis to ensure safe and reliable operation of plant and equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Carries out preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical faults.
• Dismantles, repairs, overhauls and reassembles mechanical equipment.
• Performs basic welding, fabrication, machining and general fitting works.
• Responds promptly to mechanical breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements.
• Conducts routine inspections to identify potential equipment defects and recommend appropriate corrective action.
• Ensures all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures, safety standards and operational requirements.
• Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment conditions and repairs undertaken.
• Participates in HSE audits as directed by the Company safety standards.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Knowledge of Business Management Systems (Quality, Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health) is an added advantage.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance, fitting, equipment repair and fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of maintenance packages.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Fitter Class Apprenticeship-trained or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• A minimum of five (5) years post-apprenticeship experience in mechanical maintenance under reputable organisations.
• At least five (5) O-Level passes, including Mathematics, English Language and Science.
• Valid Class 4 driver’s licence.
