The job exists to facilitate plant maintenance and making sure there is continuous efficient production.
Oversees the day to day running of the plant and workshop.
Carries out annual national plant overhaul as and when necessary.
Repairs and maintains plants, machines, and civil structures.
Investigates all incidences and ensures corrective and preventive action is taken to prevent recurrence.
Orders machine spares using SAP.
Prepares and submits accidents/incidents report with the help of the SHEQ Officer to NSSA.
Liaises with external parties for any jobs that need to be done at the Depot.
Maintains spares and material records.
Supervises workshop staff
Recommends and trains maintenance team
Accesses, recommends, and supervises forklift operators
Supervises Contractors on site
Formulates budget for the department
Commissions as well as de- commissions machines if need be.
Recommends and carries out machine modifications
Enforces adherence to Statutory Regulatory Boards requirements like EMA, NSSA and ZINWA.
Enforces adherence to safety standards
Any other related duties as assigned by the Superior.
5 ‘O’ level subjects including English Language and Accounts/Mathematics.
National Certificate in Fitting and Turning
Class 1 Journeyman Trade Test Certificate
3 years’ experience in plant maintenance
