Job Description

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 14 OF 2020

Matron III {Allocation Officer} X 1 Post: Chitungwiza Central Hospital

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced members who are eligible for appointment to the above mentioned vacant post in terms of the Appointment, Performance Advancement, Regrading, Transfer, Promotion and Training Procedures for Registered General Nurses in the Health Service.

Duties and Responsibilities

REPORTS TO: Principal Tutor

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. Allocates students to the different areas as indicated in the training syllabus.
2. Ensures that students fulfill training requirements in the Clinical areas.
3. Liaises with P.M.D team and CITY health Department to ensure maximum exposure of students to the relevant setting.
4. Advises the Principal Matron and Principal Tutor on any problems being encountered in the allocation of students.
5. Participates in the interviewing and selection of candidates for nurse training programs.
6. Responsible for all administrative documentation regarding students.
7. Participates in continuous evaluation of students' progress.
8. Teaches basic, Post Basic students as well as in service educational programs.
9. Orients other tutors and student teachers on student allocation.
10. Counsels students and looks after their general welfare.
11. Attends courses, workshops relevant to the nursing profession as well as meetings and participates in service training.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Diploma in General Nursing
2. Degree/Diploma in Nursing Administration is a requirement.
3. Any other Post Basic qualification would be an added advantage.
4. Applicants should be registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe and in possession of a valid practising certificate.
