M&J Africa is looking for a Marketing Assistant to support the execution of marketing strategies across Zimbabwe and Zambia. The role involves assisting in digital marketing, content creation, market research, event coordination, and brand management. The ideal candidate should be creative, organized, and have a strong understanding of marketing trends and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Digital Marketing & Content Management
Develop and manage content for social media, blogs, and email marketing campaigns.
Monitor and respond to audience engagement on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
Work with designers to create marketing collateral, such as brochures, flyers, and social media graphics.
Assist in search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) strategies.
Support website updates, ensuring content is fresh, relevant, and engaging.
2. Market Research & Competitor Analysis
Conduct research on market trends, customer behavior, and competitors in Zimbabwe and Zambia.
Prepare detailed reports on consumer insights, brand positioning, and industry developments.
Identify opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations.
3. Sales & Lead Generation Support
Work closely with the sales team to align marketing efforts with revenue goals.
Develop marketing materials for client presentations, proposals, and corporate events.
Track and analyze leads generated from marketing campaigns, providing insights on conversion rates.
Maintain and update customer databases and CRM systems.
4. Event Coordination & Brand Promotion
Assist in the planning and execution of corporate events, trade shows, and product launches.
Coordinate logistics for workshops, training sessions, and promotional events.
Ensure M&J Africa maintains a consistent and professional brand image at all public engagements.
5. Advertising & Public Relations
Liaise with media houses, journalists, and influencers to boost brand visibility.
Assist in developing press releases, newsletters, and PR campaigns.
Track media coverage and compile reports on public perception and brand awareness.
6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Analyze marketing campaign results and provide recommendations for improvement.
Track and report on website traffic, social media engagement, and ad campaign performance.
Prepare monthly marketing reports and present findings to management.
Education & Experience:
Any Qualification Will Do
-1-3 years of experience in marketing, digital media, or brand management.
-Experience working in B2B marketing, consulting, or professional services is an advantage.
Technical & Soft Skills:
-Strong understanding of digital marketing tools, including social media, Google Ads, and email marketing.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
-Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) is an added advantage.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
-Strong analytical skills to track marketing performance.
-Knowledge of the business landscape in Zimbabwe and Zambia is a plus.
