Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for the position of Marketing and Business Development Manager to oversee the marketing and business development function of a growing and dynamic security company. The role involves policy formulation and implementation of the marketing strategy. The purpose of the role is to increase the top line and ensuring that the company provides goods and services that are required by the market. The role requires a leader who is able to interact and engage at all levels from shop floor to the executive level with a hands-on approach and particular bias to action. This is a self-starter position which requires an experienced and seasoned marketer.
Duties and Responsibilities

Prospects continuously for new business through a variety of marketing techniques.
Develop pricing and business development strategies in collaboration with and
under the direction of the General Manager.
Lead the Sales and Marketing department with a bias towards sales development
and retaining current business.
Develops marketing campaigns and adverts with a view of increasing the top line.
Analyse local market to identify various business opportunities, prospective
companies and associated buyers.
Follow up on all referrals and self-generated leads to identify buyer influences,
monitors prospects’ calendars and prepares reports on status of leads.
Makes sales presentations to prospective customers.
Solicits orders and processes approved services schedule with a view of achieving
the sales set targets.
Meets regularly with new clients to assess level of satisfaction with services and to
develop a list of strong referrals.
Enhances and maintains business development skills through participation in a
variety of relevant marketing training programs.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal person must possess the following:
Degree in Marketing or Commerce
At least 5 years’ experience in business environment preferably in security industry
Clean Class Four Drivers licence
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Ability to work with numbers and strong analytical skills
Demonstrated skills in sales and business development
Excellent planning, organising and time management skills
Strong customer service and results orientation
