POST : Manager Procurement Head Office

STATION : Head Office
GRADE : G2
REPORTS TO: Secretary

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To understand and implement the Procurement Act and its regulations
2. To create policies and procedures for risk management
3. To negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms for procurement
4. To interpret corporate bids and analyse potential costs or savings derived from adopting a bid or quotation
5. To approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
6. To examine and test existing contracts
7. To perform risk management for sup[ply contracts and agreements
8. To collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity on the specifications and expectations of the company
9. To control expenditure and build a culture of long term saving on procurement costs
10. To finalise purchase details of orders and deliveries
11. To supervise the work of purchasing and procurement agents across all departments

Qualifications and Experience

i) A degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management/Purchasing Management qualification or equivalent
ii) A post graduate qualification and CIPS membership will be an added advantage
iii) At least 5 years in procurement
iv) Strong working knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as an aptitude for reading the market
v) Exceptional knowledge on Public Procurement and Disposal Act (Chapter 22.23)
vi) Outstanding decision-making skills and ability to work well with numbers
vii) Must possess a high level of integrity and honesty
viii) Membership of professional body and licensed by the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe.
