Reporting to: Management Information Systems Coordinator
Organizational Summary: FACT Zimbabwe is a Christian organisation that was established in 1987 as the first AIDS serving organisation in Zimbabwe. Based in Mutare, Manicaland Province, FACT Zimbabwe is implementing various projects across Zimbabwe which aim to realise “Healthy Communities for A Healthy Nation.”

Purpose of the position: The Management Information Systems Assistant (MISA) works under the supervision of the Management Information Systems Coordinator (MISC) in creating project data collection tools and database systems to store and analyse project data. The MISA is expected to generate infographics, reports, maps, tables, storyboards, and graphs to share with respective M&E and programme teams. S/he supports the M&E team in the delivery of data collection tools and visualization for respective projects. The individual must be an independent thinker who is creative, self-confident and can apply statistical methods to complex datasets to drive clinical and operational decision-making within FACT projects

Duties and Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities:
• Support the Management Information Systems Coordinator in FACT M&E and data management processes at national level.
• Organize and Collect data from different FACT projects databases.
• Support OVC Partners on the USAID OVCMIS.
• Analyse program data and interpret results to the respective project and M & E teams.
• Providing technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleaning.
• Maintain FACT database and design data analysis plan linked to routine monthly data analysis coming out of databases.
• Identify salient data patterns, perform complex analysis and interpret trends/patterns coming from the data.
• Develop innovative and appropriate data visualization methods to convey key trends to a range of audiences from MOHCC, donors, to health care workers and relevant stakeholders
• Provide regular training for new and existing staff on the developed data visualisation tools, systems
• Produce high quality reports based on accurate and verified data Under the guidance of technical team leads, conduct in-depth and robust data analysis and presentation.
• Present information in a variety of formats and conveying complex information to people who may not be specialists in the area.
• Investigate ad hoc queries; assist in data interpretation and present results.
• Identifying exceptions and errors and investigate and report on the likely sources for such errors which are then to be followed up by the SIR Manager at national and district level to identify to reason/type of data error and correct them.
• Maintain quality data services by establishing and enforcing FACT ICT standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Skill and Attributes
• Experience in data models and reporting packages
• Experience and skills in DHIS2 framework, EMR and National HMIS systems, including a working knowledge of MOHCC data collection tools
• Ability to analyse large datasets
• Ability to write comprehensive reports
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving

Qualifications and experience
• Minimum of university degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Biostatistics, or any other quantitative degree with at least 2 years relevant experience.
• Or MS/MA Information Technology, Computer Science or its recognized equivalent, and 1-year relevant experience.
• Basic practical knowledge of statistics, the use of statistical software and other relevant computer program required.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of statistical packages for analysing data (STATA, SPSS, SAS or EPI-Info).
• Advanced knowledge in the use of Excel Spreadsheet.
• A Health Information Systems (HIS) or ICT postgraduate qualification is an added advantage. Sound understanding/training in the data modelling and visualisation an added advantage.
• Ability to write comprehensive reports
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
