Job Description

Our client in Poultry Industry is looking for Maintenance Fitter to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for attending to allocated mechanical installation, maintenance & repairs to ensure Production Targets and standards are met and maintenance & repair of the Boiler House, laundry and Rendering plant & machinery as per SHEQ and Production KPIs & SOPs. Ensures all equipment is safe to use at all times. Conducts pre-operational checks and adjust equipment to produce optimally at all time. Assesses all maintenance and repair work, escalates and seeks approval where there is impact on safety and production. Attends daily Maintenance safety talks. Performs all maintenance jobs based on Daily Maintenance Checklist and allocated areas. Receives Job Cards from Superior, assesses job and fills Requisition Form accordingly and hands over to PP Stores Clerk. Completes job and commissions equipment to ensure good working order. Fills in Job Card, Declaration of Conformity and Tools & Parts Reconciliation Form after completion of job and hands over to Superior. Fixes any mechanical faults when requested by PP Supervisors or reports to Superior if unable to fix. Reports any identified mechanical fault to Superior immediately. Liaises with PP Stores Clerk and assists with mechanical spares & consumables specifications for ordering. Checks quality, quantity & specs of all received mechanical goods. Conducts random checks weekly to ensure maintenance schedule & Bio-Security standards are adhered to. Conducts inspections daily to ensure good housekeeping practice. Follows up & implements monthly maintenance checklist and reports any faults with Superior. Takes part in duty roster & attends to repair jobs when required. Responsible for the installation of designated new PP equipment & machinery. Receives instruction to install new equipment from Superior and quantifies materials & workforce needed. Raises a Requisition Form with PP Stores Clerk after approval from Superior. Follows up on requisition with Stores Clerk to ensure deadlines are met. Checks quantities, quality & specs of received materials, fills in Requisition Form, hands over to Superior for signature then draws materials needed. Completes installation within set deadlines & commissions to ensure good working order. Assists 3rd party contractors when needed. Assists Superior with all trouble-shooting issues when requested

Duties and Responsibilities

Trains team members on proper work methods, safety procedures and scope of authority & responsibility based on qualification & skill level. Communicates leave and overtime for the team with Superior. Mentors direct subordinates. Administers discipline through verbal warnings and reports any disciplinary issue to Superior. Trains team in predictive & preventative maintenance and machine repair. Participates in job descriptions reviews & updates when needed. Performance manages team members as per company performance management reviews. Ensures that the mechanical team adheres to all SHE, QA, FSSC, GMPs, GHPs & SOPs at all times. Extent of Discretion; Incumbent liaises with Superior.
