Job Description

The M&E Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing the M&E activities of the Country Projects; assisting in preparing Quarterly/Annual reports on programs progress and will monitor the project activities on a regular basis, developing and maintaining the MIS of projects, and will be responsible for the collection and analysis of different data in relation to the project activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure effective Monitoring, Learning, and Impact Assessment
• Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures
• Monitor all program activities, and progress towards achieving the program output;
• Recommend further improvement of the logical framework;
• Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the program success;
• Develop M&E system for the Programme and for the government counterpart/stakeholders;
• Prepare and maintain the database
• Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results;
• Monitor the sustainability of the program's results;
• Provide feedback to the Programmes Team on project strategies and activities;
• Suggest strategies to the Programmes Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
• Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for country programs;
• Provide inputs, information, and statistics for quarterly, annual, and other reports to Programmes Management Team
• Participate in annual programs reviews and planning workshops and assist the Programmes staff in preparing relevant reports;
• Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of the project;
• Assist in coordinating across the available components of the Project to ensure effective implementation of M&E/MIS;
• Assist the Programmes staff with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use
• Conduct field/site monitoring visits
• Assist in donor monitoring missions
• Contribute to the development of other Regional REPSSI programs when requested by management.
• Participate in the organizational strategic planning (planning, reviews, and related activities)
• Carry out other work as assigned by the Country M&E Officer

Qualifications and Experience

 A Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics and Research or any related field; Statistics background is an added advantage
• Minimum two (2) year of relevant work experience
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills
• Practical experience in training and/or facilitation of groups
• Practical experience in designing and administering surveys;
• Experience in design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems including both qualitative and quantitative approaches
• Experience in national networking and knowledge management
• Prepared to travel to difficult to reach areas.
Language Requirements:
-Fluency in written and spoken English
