VACANCY: LUBRICATOR
KHAYAH CEMENT ZIMBABWE
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Khayah Cement for suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post, in the Engineering Department.
MAIN DUTIES
The successful applicant will among other key challenging aspects be responsible for:
• Carrying out routine lubrication of plant machinery, equipment, bearings, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, and other mechanical components.
• Following established lubrication schedules and ensure lubrication activities are completed on time.
• Inspecting equipment for signs of oil or grease leaks, abnormal wear, overheating, contamination, and other defects.
• Monitoring lubricant levels and replenish oils and greases as required.
• Ensuring correct lubricants are used according to equipment specifications.
• Cleaning lubrication points and surrounding areas before applying lubricants.
• Maintaining accurate records of lubrication activities, lubricant consumption, and equipment observations.
• Reporting equipment abnormalities, leaks, damaged components, and potential failures to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assisting mechanical maintenance personnel with routine and preventive maintenance activities when required.
• Maintaining lubrication tools, equipment, and storage areas in good working condition.
• Handling, storing, and disposing of lubricants and related materials in accordance with company procedures and environmental requirements.
• Following all company Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards within the work area.
• Participating in planned maintenance, shutdowns, and other maintenance activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
• 5 O’ Levels including Mathematics and English.
• A lubrication-related qualification or training will be an added advantage.
• Previous experience as a Lubricator/Lubrication Technician in a cement manufacturing, mining, quarrying, heavy industry, or similar environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, lubrication charts, and maintenance schedules.
