Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lounge Supervisor to join our team at The Lounge, R.G. Mugabe Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and presenting food and beverages according to client specifications. They will guide and coach a team of service, cleaning, and kitchen staff to ensure the lounge operates efficiently and smoothly.

Key responsibilities include interacting with customers, explaining food and beverage offerings, and making recommendations to exceed guest expectations. The Lounge Supervisor will also manage resources such as employee working hours, staff training, and stores management in close collaboration with the lounge team to deliver superior products and services that delight all customers.

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure Smooth Lounge Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of The Lounge, ensuring the delivery of 5-star service to all passengers.
- Manage the catering and cleaning services, whether provided by staff or third-party vendors, to maintain the highest standards.

2. Food and Consumables Management:
- Oversee the ordering of all food, beverages, and consumables, ensuring availability and quality in line with lounge standards.

3. Reporting and Compliance:
- Complete monthly reports and provide regular updates according to The Lounge’s procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety.

4. Customer Feedback and Service Improvement:
- Review customer feedback and service reactions, and develop action plans to address any concerns.
- Foster an environment where continuous improvement is encouraged, sharing common goals and objectives for service excellence.

5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, motivate, and direct the lounge team to maximize efficiency and customer service quality.
- Assign duties, coach, and discipline employees as needed to maintain performance standards.

6. Staff Management:
- Verify and validate employee rosters, attendance, and overtime records.
- Monitor the grooming and presentation of the lounge team daily, addressing any discrepancies.

7. Training and Performance Management:
- Assess ongoing training needs to ensure all staff are equipped to deliver a customer-focused service.
- Provide on-the-job training when necessary and ensure all staff are performance-managed to meet quality objectives.

8. Innovation and Proactiveness:
- Continually seek opportunities to add value through innovative and proactive solutions to operational challenges.
- Foster positive working relationships with the airport team to ensure effective collaboration and consistency in customer service delivery.

9. Delivering on Customer Expectations:
- Ensure the lounge commitments are met in line with customer expectations, continually seeking ways to enhance the overall experience.

10. Other Duties:
- Carry out any other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of The Lounge.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:
- BA in Hotel Management or Business Administration.

Experience:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in a senior position within the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel is a plus.
- Experience in delivering quality customer service and products to prestigious clients.
- Catering experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel or similar environment is a plus.

Skills:
- Proven experience in supervisory and team management roles.
- A valid driver’s license is a plus.
