Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the Loss Control Officer position that has arisen at the Cotton Company of Zimbabwe.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Proposes security policies to management.
• Monitors compliance with the security systems.
• Assists the Loss Control Manager in drawing standard procedures for security and loss control operations.
• Develops and implements strategies to prevent losses, such as implementing access control measures, improving inventory management, and enhancing employee awareness of security protocols.
• Draws security work plans and programmes for the enterprise.
• Carries out investigations for all cases involving employees at all levels.
• Conducts security vetting of prospective employees.
• Decides on the appropriate treatment of investigations.
• Liaises with law enforcement agents and outsourced security agents.
• Reports cases and incidents directly to the Loss Control Manager.
• Supervises contracted security companies and deciding on how they are deployed.
• Performs special investigations as directed by the Loss Control Manager.
• Promotes security and risk control awareness through crime prevention and awareness campaigns.
• Checks on the enforcement of controls in the organization.
• Assists the safety department in coordinating the emergency preparedness system.
• Represents the company in the courts.
• Allocates duties to subordinates and putting in place a timetable for proper supervision.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Police and Security Studies, Business Studies, Criminology and or any Social Science Degree.
• 5 years’ experience as a police or security officer.
• Experience in an agribusiness enterprise is an added advantage
• The candidate should be able to work under pressure.
