Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, self-motivated and task oriented individuals to fill the above position that has arisen within the Housing and Community Services Department
The incumbent will be reporting to the Senior Library Assistant and will be responsible for:
Interviews prospective members
Membership registration and answering routine inquiries
Assists librarian in book acquisition and classification
Maintains records of items received, stored, issued and returned according to the system used
Processing and cataloguing of books and other materials
Assist in managing and supervision of junior staff
The Person Specification
5 “O” levels including English and Mathematics
A diploma in Library and Information Science
Computer literacy
Knowledge of local authority will be an added advantage
