Job Description

The Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) Is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions that have arisen within the Organization.

Legal Officer
DEPARTMENT: LEGAL

Duties and Responsibilities


Duties and Responsibilities
o Participate in the formulation and implementation of policies, processes and procedures including all legal matters in line with PRAZ's mandate.
o Participates in the provision of technical advice and provides secretarial services to PRAZ, the Board, The Review Panel, debarment committees, disciplinary committee and SPOC on all legal matters.
o Ensuring compliance with corporate governance framework, internal controls and statutory regulations in line with the prevailing legislation. o Inputs into the development and compilation of monthly and quarterly reports on the department's performance
o Maintaining and handling PRAZ litigation
o Appear in court to give expert evidence 'on Procurement matters
o Drafting, assessing and reviewing legal documents relating to the Authority's mandate
o Conduct research, interpret laws and court decisions in relation to their impact on PRAZ
o Participates in the negotiation and resolution of contractual disputes
o Conducting capacity building trainings for procuring entities and bidders on legal aspects of public procurement

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications Required
o Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree.
o 4 to 5 years' experience in a similar environment
