The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite qualifications, skills and experience for the following posts in the Graduate School of Business: -

Lectureship/Senior Lectureship/Associate Professorship (5 Posts)

Applicants must be able to teach face-to-face and/or online, any one of the following modules offered at Master’s level.

Post A- Strategic Management [1]

Applicants must possess a minimum of an earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree in Strategic Management. Applicants must also have attained at least a 2.1 at undergraduate level. In addition, applicants must have at least two years’ teaching experience in an institution of higher learning with a minimum of two single or co-authored publications in refereed journals in Strategic Management or in any areas of Commerce and Management. The successful candidate will be expected to teach postgraduate students in Strategic Management and to provide academic leadership and guide the School in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, organisational effectiveness and university service. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate dissertations. Applicants with practical work experience in industry or commerce and/or extensive consultancy experience in Strategic Management will have an added advantage. Applications from holders of a Master of Business Administration/Master of Commerce degree in Strategic Management/ MSc in Strategic Management, with at least ten years of senior management experience will also be considered.


Post B – Management Information Systems [1]

Applicants must possess a minimum of an earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree in Management Information Systems (MIS).
Applicants must also have attained at least a 2.1, at undergraduate level in MIS or Information Communications Technology (ICT). In addition, applicants must have at least two years teaching experience in an institution of higher learning, with a minimum of two single or co-authored publications in refereed journals in Management Information Systems or in any areas of Commerce and Management. The successful candidate will be expected to teach post graduate students in Management Information Systems and to provide academic leadership and guide the School in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, organisational effectiveness and university service. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate dissertations. Applicants with practical work experience in industry or commerce and/or extensive consultancy experience in Management Information Systems will have an added advantage. Applications from holders of a Master of Business Administration/Master of Commerce degree in Management Information Systems with at least five years of senior management experience will also be considered.


Post C – Accounting [1]

Applicants must possess a minimum of an earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree in Accounting. Applicants must also have attained at least a 2.1, at undergraduate level, in Accounting or Finance. In addition, applicants must have at least two years teaching experience in an institution of higher learning, with a minimum of two single or co-authored publications in refereed journals in Accounting or in any areas of Commerce and Management. The successful candidate will be expected to teach postgraduate students in Accounting and to provide academic leadership and guide the School in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, organisational effectiveness and community engagement. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate dissertations. Applicants with practical work experience in industry or commerce and/or extensive consultancy experience in Accounting will have an added advantage. Chartered Accountants, who are holders of at least a first degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business and those applicants who hold a Master of Commerce degree in Accounting and are registered Public Accountants, with at least five years’ postqualification experience will also be considered.

Post D – Business Maths/Statistics [1]

Applicants must possess a minimum of an earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree in Statistics or a related area. Applicants must also have attained at least a 2.1, at undergraduate level in Mathematics or Statistics. In addition, the applicants must have at least two years teaching experience in an institution of higher learning, with a minimum of two single or co-authored publications in refereed journals in Business Maths/ Statistics/ Quantitative Management or in any areas of Commerce and Management. The successful candidate will be expected to teach post graduate students in Business Maths/Statistics/Quantitative Management and to provide academic leadership and guide the School in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, organisational effectiveness and community engagement. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate dissertations. Applicants with practical work experience in industry or commerce and/or extensive consultancy experience in the related field will have an added advantage. Applications from those who hold a Master of Commerce degree in Business Maths / Statistics / Quantitative Management and with at least five years post-qualification experience will also be considered.



Post E - Operations Management [1]

Applicants must possess a minimum of an earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree in Operations Management. Applicants must also have attained at least a 2.1, at undergraduate level, in Engineering, Production or Operations Management. In addition, applicants must have at least two years’ teaching experience in an institution of higher learning with a minimum of two single or co-authored publications in refereed journals in Operations Management or in any areas of Commerce and Management. The successful candidate will be expected to teach post graduate students in Operations Management and to provide academic leadership and guide the School in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, business development and organisational effectiveness. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate dissertations. Applicants with practical work experience in industry or commerce and/or extensive consultancy experience in Operations Management will have an added advantage. Applications from those who hold a Master of Commerce degree in Operations Management, and with at least five years’ post-qualification experience will also be considered.
