2. Lectureship/Senior Lectureship/Associate Professor (5 POSTS)
Department of Applied Chemistry
Duties and Responsibilities
Post A
The successful candidates will be expected to develop research and publication records within their areas of specialization. Knowledge of Computational Chemistry will be an added advantage.
Post B
The successful candidates will be expected to teach Organic Chemistry at undergraduate level as well as to develop research within their areas of specialization. In addition, applicants will be expected to develop, update and review Organic Chemistry courses at undergraduate and possibly postgraduate level in order to keep up with the changes in technology. Besides, they will also be involved in the supervision of final year research projects and industrial attachment.
Qualifications and Experience
POST A (2 POSTS)
Applicants must hold a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and be experienced in teaching Analytical Chemistry at both Undergraduate and Masters level. The successful candidates should preferably have experience in Laboratory Management and Quality Assurance and, or Chemical Sensors and Biosensors.
POST B (2 POSTS)
Applicants must hold at least a Master’s degree, but preferably a PhD in Organic Chemistry and be experienced in teaching Chemistry at tertiary level. Extensive knowledge in Organic Synthesis or Industrial Organic Chemistry is required.
POST C (1 POST)
Applicants must hold a PhD in Physical Chemistry and be experienced in teaching Physical Chemistry at both undergraduate and Masters’ level. The successful candidate will be expected to develop research and publication record within his/her area of specialization. Knowledge of Computational Chemistry will be an added advantage.
