Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacancies that have arisen at Bindura University of Science Education.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants must be able to teach at least five (5) courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level to both conventional and block students.
Courses for Post 1: Natural Resources Management, Nature-based Entrepreneurship, Land Management and Conservation, Risk and Disaster Management, Meteorology and Climate Change.

Courses for Post 2: Herpetology, Ichthyology, Ornithology and Mammalogy, Wildlife Pathology and Parasitology, Wildlife Study Techniques and Technologies and Wildlife Development Biology.

The Department reserves the right to allocate courses for teaching.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership to the Department, initiate, guide and contribute to basic and applied research in the Department;
To contribute to the achievement of Education 5.0 by the Department through University teaching, research, community engagement, innovation and industrialisation;
To supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their fields of specialization;

Post 1

Applicants should hold a Master of Science Degree in Natural Resources Management or related field and;
A first degree in Natural Resources passed with at least an upper-second (2.1) class;
A PhD in Natural Resources Management would be an added advantage;
Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years of tertiary teaching or relevant industrial experience;
Proven record of publications and ability to mobilise funds will be added advantages;
The curriculum vitae (CV) should contain detailed list of publications; clearly specifying titles of publications, journal names, volumes, page number details, dates published, name(s) of publishers and names(s) of co-authors if any;
Publications should be categorized into: books, monographs, refereed and non-refereed journals, chapters in books, etc.
Post 2

Applicants should hold a Master of Science Degree in Wildlife Science or related field and;
A first degree in Wildlife Science passed with at least an upper-second (2.1) class;
A PhD in Wildlife Science or a related field would be an added advantage;
Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years of tertiary teaching or relevant industrial experience;
Proven record of publications and ability to mobilise funds will be added advantages;
